Afterwork concert

Ali Onur Olgun & Simo Laihonen (TR/FI)

April 24th at 6 PM

Ali Onur Olgun performs in Laterna Magica's cellar gallery with percussionist Simo Laihonen .Tickets 5 €.

Ali Onur Olgun is a self-taught saxophone player and improviser from Istanbul. Honed by the rawness of sound, he chases timbre to decipher music as an idea for scouting the existence through a sonic ritual.

Besides his solo spatial work, he is playing in duos Kastenfaul and K.O. and actively improvising in Istanbul's avant-garde scene with folks around the neighborhood. With friends from around the globe, he has collaborated with the late pioneering percussionist/pianist Hüseyin Ertunç, drumming legend Ra Kalam Bob Moses, and cellist Tomeka Reid.

Percussionist Simo Laihonen works as a musician and educator in the fields of traditional forms of music and improvisational arts. He collaborates with Juhani Aaltonen, Mikko Innanen, Stanley J. Zappa, and the long term trio project  Black Motor.
