Panu Rytkönen (b. 1983) is a sculptor based in Helsinki. He earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2007; he has held numerous solo exhibitions—primarily in Helsinki—and participated in group exhibitions across Finland.

Rytkönen’s work has previously been shown at Laterna Magica in the form of the spatial installation Porvoosta Kruununhakaan – Future Tense Runebergian, a sculptural journey honoring the national poet J.L. Runeberg as part of the gallery’s 35th-anniversary exhibition. Upcoming Vertauksia suomalaisen kuvataiteen taistelukentästä (“Analogies from the Battlefield of Finnish Visual Art”) is Rytkönen’s first solo exhibition at Laterna Magica and spans the gallery’s entire exhibition space.

Opening reception for the exhibition on Tuesday September 15, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Warm welcome!

Exhibition is supported by Finnish Cultural Foundation.
