Exhibition opening on Tuesday June 23, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Warm welcome!
Fragments of Self is splinters of a human being in an age that demands division into many. They are shards of my own personality, yet also reflections of the world around me, of a society that asks us to adapt with the ease of a chameleon.
We move through a time where each moment seems to require a differentf ace, a more polished version of who we are. Brighter, quieter, sharper, more appealing. We have learned to slip into masks almost without noticing it, and somewhere along the way, the wholeness of self has shattered. But the fragments do not vanish. They remain within me, shaping who I am in this very instant.
Wrestling for dominion over my being are the passionate dreamer, thirsting for beauty and possibility; the anxious wanderer, faltering in the haze of indecision; the dramatic artist, gazing at the world through the lens of a camera; the restrained side of me, practiced inhiding all that might be “too much”; the timid coward, bound bycaution; and the restless soul, forever yearning for freedom and new beginnings. These are not masks I wear, they are me. They coexist, rarely in harmony, but inseparable all the same.
Perhaps fragmentation itself is the true identity of our time: a stateof constant metamorphosis, unending motion, the ability to hold many selves at once.
