KASVUKAUSIA - SEASONS OF GROWTH
Helsinki Art School graduation exhibition. Welcome to the exhibition opening on Tue May 6th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
This year the graduating class presents works where the theme of growth is mediated as a continuous, multi-stage and creative process that occurs in nature, humans and society. The exhibition features drawings, paintings, graphics as well as animation and installation.
These works are done by longtime students of Helsinki Art School.
Several students have wanted to deal with their own stages of growth in their graduation works, the journey from a small child to a young adult. The works convey the meaning of their own experiences, the world of fairy tales and play, important memories, family, friends and close people. The works describe the formation of a young person's identity, physicality, emotions and outline their own inner self and soul. The contradictions and pain that are part of growth are bravely faced. Roots, hereditary factors, environment, time and reflection on values give growth strength and direction.
Helsinki Art School is an art school that provides basic art education for children and youths between the ages of 4 and 20 once a week in teaching groups and period teaching. The curriculum of visual arts is implemented in school education: it is goal-oriented and progresses from year to year. Teachers are professional artists and visual arts teachers.

Helsingin kuvataidekoulu antaa laajan oppimäärän mukaista taiteen perusopetusta kuvataiteessa ja mediataiteessa 6– 20-vuotiaille lapsille ja nuorille. Kuvataidekoulun opetus mahdollistaa taiteen opiskelun pitkäjänteisesti, päämäärätietoisesti ja yksilöllisesti. Opetuspisteitä on Roihuvuoressa, Kumpulassa, Vuosaaressa, Viikissä, Pikku-Huopalahdessa, Lauttasaaressa, Kalasatamassa ja Kivikossa. Oppilaita kuvataidekoulussa on yli 900. Kuvataidekoulun opettajat ovat kuvataideopettajia ja kuvataiteilijoita.
