Eija Pokkinen's ink, charcoal and pastel drawings and Timo Pyhälä's stone sculptures, elves and earthlings, engage in a dialogue at the Laterna Magica Book Gallery.

The stone people watch with ancient calm the whirlwinds of human emotions - joy and sorrow, longing and the horror of war, fear and despair - which Eija Pokkinen depicts in her drawings. Mother Earth has also experienced many kinds of turmoil at different stages of the world's eras, the earth's crust has writhed in volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. Timo Pyhälä's sculptures bear witness to this. Their blanks have lain dormant on our continental plate for two billion years, wandering between the Earth's poles. Erosion and ice ages have wiped away kilometers-high mountains from above them.
