Welcome to exhibition opening on Tuesday June 24, from 5 p.m. to 7p.m.

The exhibition Made of Stardust in our Tile and Cellar Galleries consists of works by two glass artists. Kari Alakoski is undoubtedly one of the leading stars of the Finnish glass , a long-standing super expert in the field. Mira Ollila is an interesting and imaginative newcomer to the glass field who took the leap from the glitter of the ballet world to glass art 4 years ago.

The artists in the Made of Stardust exhibition interpret space phenomena, from shooting stars to black holes and moonscapes to exoplanets, through the medium of glass art. Vases, bowls, plates, lamps, sculptures. Glass can be used for many things!

There is something extremely calming about the scale of the cosmos when a person realizes that they are just a small grain of sand on the paradise beach of the universe: in the presence of the phenomena of space, everyday worries seem to shrink to microscopic insignificance.
