Anna Mattila's exhibition ”Tilaton….tilassa” (Without a space...In a Space) will be seen in Laterna Magica's tile and cellar galleries in October.

Exhibition consists of digital photographs, which are like notes from a journey.

In the sculptural photographs a body of a woman finds its place in relation to the environment and surrounding emptiness. The photos are an attempt to find new spaces and new possible meanings within this context. There is a line, a marking on the body, which forms boundaries and creates. It is like a memory, which tries to find connections with visible and invisible.

Anna Mattila (b.1963) is an artist born in Helsinki, who has mainly lived in Spain since 1997. Nowadays she lives in the Basque Country, where majority of these photographs were taken.
