What is left? In spite of centuries of turmoil, people, artists and craftsmen have left traces - for us to see. A lot of work. A lot of work. A lot of vision. A lot of effort. A lot of beauty. A lot of layers and messages from different eras. And that gentle wind and rain and sun - the abundant atmosphere of Florence.

The works and the makers of this exhibition are bound together by Florence and jewelry.

Tunne HOHTO, känn LYSTER is the third exhibition related to Florence by the Dautula group. They are goldsmith artisans who graduated from Axxell Överby in 2023 and went on a study trip to Florence with the support of a grant from the Swedish Cultural Foundation in October 2024. Before the trip, they organized the exhibition Föreställningar om Florens/Mielikuvia Firenzesta (Visions of Florence and after the trip, another exhibition, Minnen från Florens/Muistoja Firenzesta, in the Rikhardinkatu library shelf gallery Hyvinpieni.

This exhibition at Laterna Magica follows in the footsteps of previous exhibitions and looks forward to a new study trip to Florence and a course at the Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery Institute in October 2026, supported by a new grant from the Swedish Cultural Foundation.
