Anniversary exhibitions

Laterna Magica 35

In the spring of 2024, we will celebrate Laterna's 35-year history with several anniversary exhibitions. The opening of the exhibitions will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 9. from 5 to 7 p.m. The opening celebration poem is recited by poet Petra Vallila and the celebration songs are served by Loiriplukari.‍

Breath – About the limitations of time, fragility, its power and the traces it leaves behind

The exhibition consists of a dialogue between photographs, watercolors and words. The starting point for the whole is a series of photographs that progress in time from the same place and object, a childhood friend by the water, through several years and seasons. Edith Södergran

Maailma on minun - The World is Mine

Opening and Book launch on April 4th from 5-7 PM in the Book Gallery space is photography by Edith Södergran (1892 –1923) in an exhibition Maailma on minun - The World is Mine. Södergran was a Swedish-speaking Finnish poet, one of the first modernists within Swedish-language literature and loved by generations of readers. Agneta Rahikainen and Eira Sillanpää have collected Södergran's poetry and photography into a book and an exhibition, which bears the name Maailma on minun - The World is Mine. The book comes out in two languages, Edith Södergrans mother-tongue Swedish and in translation in Finnish.
