In 1963, I graduated from the Tuomarniemi Forest School as a forest technician. I practiced the profession corresponding to my education until 1969.Since then, I have earned my living by shooting and directing films. The exhibition depicts the relationship between man and nature, which is both wounding and vulnerable at the same time. Steel and Clouds is a photography series depicting urbane, industrial constructions and clouds. Janne Hernes (born in Oulu 1981) is a Finnish photographer based in Ireland. His classic black-and-white photographs have a melancholic undertone that invites the viewer to contemplate.

The starting point for this exhibition has been the extension of the theme of home, which has been present in my previous work, out in to the nature. Plants, trees and stones have always been a part of my imagery. Meet the artist at the gallery on Saturday October 21st from 1-3 PM.

In our Tile Gallery, Tero Makkonen's mystical night vistas can be seen in the photo exhibition Lepäävä kuu. Tini Sauvo's glimmering textile works glow in the Cellar gallery, with the theme Firmamento, celestial sphere. Spaces and artworks are connected by the sound world created by Esa Lindroos. 'Distancia' is a joint exhibition by Chilean artists Valentina Bravo and Adolfo Vera. Both based in Helsinki, their artwork seek to explore ideas related to exile, migration and Chilean identity. Exhibition opening on Tuesday September 12th from 5-7 PM.

Motions and connections is a joint exhibtion by three artists: Astrid Heimer, Leena Juvonen and Malene Pedersen. With clay in our hands, and form as the primary statement, we aim to explore the concept of reciprocity.
