This year the graduating class presents works where the theme of growth is mediated as a continuous, multi-stage and creative process that occurs in nature, humans and society. The exhibition features drawings, paintings, graphics as well as animation and installation.These works are done by longtime students of Helsinki Art School. Petra Giacomelli is a Finnish artist who has lived in Italy since 1983 and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. Giacomelli's exhibitions are often thematic or have strong links to literary sources. Artist books, wordless stories realized in old glued-on books, have been her signature works for years. Photographic artist and researcher Leena Saraste (b.1942) has photographed in various parts of the world during her long career. In the early 1980s, Saraste was one of the first female photographers in the Palestinian territories, Syria and Lebanon, among other places. In 1983, Saraste compiled her photographs into a journalistic photo book, Rakkaani, Palestiina (Tutkijaliitto, 1983).The small-scale exhibition will revisit the everyday life of Palestinians in the 1980s, which was overshadowed by uncertainty and violence. However, the images also reflect hope and warmth.

Onni Aaltonen's photography exhibition tells the story of a trip to North Korea at the turn of 2016–2017. It was only possible to travel to the closed dictatorship by taking part in a organized tour, the program of which was planned by North Korean tour operators. he exhibition focuses on the question of how to perceive a pre-framed reality.

Iiris Hälli is a Helsinki-based painter whose studio is on Harakka Island off the coast of Helsinki. The 11th Hour is a multisensorial exhibition consisting of photography, moving image, sound and installation. Mikko Palonkorpi's photography exhibition in the Tile and Cellar Galleries focuses on the mountain people and their habitats of South Caucasus (Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan). The different eras in the photographs appear layered: thousands of years of history and modern times mix with each other.

Minna Pinola’s photography exhibition "In the Presence of Hope" celebrates the privilege, uniqueness, and unpredictability of life through intimate portraits. Life is light and shadow, and it happens today. In this project, Minna Pinola has interviewed and photographed 12 individuals who live their lives with illnesses without a cure and bravely share their experiences of when an incurable diagnosis enters life as an unwelcome guest.

MONOLITH is a journey of introspection, exploring the genesis of my own identity as a son, a man, a father. It revolves around the themes of abandonment, absence, blame and acceptance.
